Public health physician Dr. Priye Olise has warned that insufficient sleep poses serious health risks, stressing that adequate rest is vital for people of all ages and genders.
Speaking during the May edition of the Rivers State University’s “2.5 Walk for Life” initiative, Dr. Olise highlighted that consistently sleeping fewer than seven hours per night is linked to a higher risk of stroke, hypertension, and other cardiovascular conditions.
Also addressing participants at the event, the university’s Director of Health Services, Dr. Dagogo Cookey-Gam, urged both academic and non-academic staff to better manage their time in order to prioritize proper rest and maintain their overall well-being.
