The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Moshood Jimoh, has reaffirmed that political activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, remains on the police wanted list, with directives issued for his arrest wherever he is found.
Speaking with journalists during a ‘Show of Force’ operation on the Third Mainland Bridge on Friday, CP Jimoh disclosed that the Command has intensified security operations across the state to prevent a repeat of the violent protests that rocked parts of Lagos on September 8.
He explained that the visibility exercise was aimed at boosting public confidence and assuring residents of their safety amid recent concerns.
“This is to ensure that we do not have any repeat of what happened on September 8. Sowore is known for his antics,” the Commissioner stated.
Jimoh noted that the police would continue to take proactive measures to maintain law and order while urging Lagosians to remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear.
