The Chairman of Emouha Local Government Area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has said that persons who barricaded the council gate on Monday over alleged non payment of salaries are not workers of the council.
Lloyd, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, said the names of such persons are not on the payroll of the council.
He noted that even as council boss, he has no power to withhold salaries of workers, adding that true staff of the council have been duly paid and no one is being owed except those with bank issues.
Lloyd, also explained that those claiming to be staff, were paid out of the benevolence of the past administration and were never workers of the council.
Some persons had yesterday barricaded the entrance of Emouha council over lleged refusal of the Chairman to pay them their three months salaries despite being staff of the council.
