Human Rights Activist and former media aide to Governor, Nyesom Wike, Opunabo Inko-Tariah has reacted to claims by the governor that Abiye Sekibo is behind the death of prominent Rivers sons.
Wike, had in a statement few days ago accused Sekibo of being behind the death of Chief. A.K. Dikibo and being the leader of cultists in the state, after Abiye accused him(Wike) of sending thugs to assassinate him.
However, Opunabo in a statement yesterday, questioned why Wike was wining and dining with a murderer after swearing to protect the lives and properties of Rivers people.
He advised Wike to begin legal proceedings against Sekibo if he has enough facts, noting that murder cases are not statute barred.
Also, the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations has called on the governor to stop making inciting comments.
Spokesperson of the organization, Solomon Lenu urged Wike to tell Rivers people when he knew Abiye was a killer and cultist, and wondered why he was not a bad person when they were together
He advised Wike to prosecute those guilty of murder if he has enough facts and stop heating up the polity.
