President of the Ogoni Liberation initiative, Dr. Douglas Fabeke says the Ogonis will speak in one voice in next year’s governorship election in Rivers state.
Fabeke, disclosed this in a statement, yesterday. He advised politicians against making unguarded statements capable of making any ethnic group feel marginalised.
The activist, who also reacted to a statement by Governor, Nyesom Wike that the state government will take over a property belonging to late Ken Saro-wiwa, called on the governor to reach out to Ken’s family before such action.
According to him, the state government should transform the property as a way of honoring Ken who paid a price with his life for Rivers people and Niger Deltans at large.
He noted that the family of the late environmentalist should be treated with respect by all and sundry.
