Projects: Oji Ngofa Replies Gov. Wike

Former Ambassador to the Netherlands and senatorial candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Amb. Oji Ngofa has described Gov. Nyesom Wike as a poor student who reflects a low cognitive ability and pedestrian appreciation of diplomatic duties despite educating him on the duties of an ambassador.

Ngofa, said this in reaction to statements by Gov. Wike in Eleme yesterday that Ngofa did nothing for his people as an ambassador, and urged them not to vote for him.

His statement reads,

GOV. NYESOM WIKE’S DIATRIBES IN ELEME ON AMBASSADOR Oji Ngofa:

RE: A RIGHT TO REPLY.

Once again, I watched on live TV, the drunken virtuperations of His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike, on my person, at the flag-off of his phantom Road Project in my LGA. The Governor  has made it a habit to use commissioning or flag-offs of his self-promoting brick and mortar unsustainable projects, as a platform to disparage citizens of the state who disagree with him.

It’s very obvious that the Governor is a poor student; I tried to educate him on the  duties and responsibilities of an Ambassador some time ago, but apparently and sadly so, he reflects a low cognitive ability and pedestrian appreciation of Diplomatic Duties. Once again, Governor Wike should be reminded that an Ambassador works with a Station Charter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A Station Charter  defines the duties of an Ambassador in a Receiving State.

Attracting projects and flying people oversees is not part of the responsibilities of an Ambassador. My work and achievements as an Ambassador are easy to assess by a click of a button on goggle search. I was a local government chairman; indeed the longest serving Council Chairman in the history of Eleme Local Government Area.

Any valid assessment of my value and contributions in politics of Rivers State should be my performance as an elected ( twice) Council Chairman since understanding how diplomacy works is a challenge to Governor Wike and victims of his gaslighting.

Why are they afraid to talk about my performance as a Council Chairman? Is it because they are aware that they have not added anything to my monumental achievements as a Council Chairman since 2015? Whether Governor Wike likes it or not, the 2023 Elections would be a referendum on those that have been in the saddle in public office, either exiting or incumbents; and the people will pass their verdict through their votes. His outdated despotic terror tactics/ weaponization of poverty to subdue Rivers people will fail.

A Governor should understand that he is an embodiment of the collective wisdom of his people. It’s about time to put a stop to this endless  shameful shenanigans in the name of politics. The 2023 General Elections will be a watershed moment for Rivers State and it will be decided  by the citizens of the State.
