The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu says the Governor Fubara led Administration is willing and ready to deploy huge human and material resources to improve access to primary healthcare services for the Rivers People.
Prof. Odu stated this during the Third Quarterly Meeting of the State Task Force on Primary Healthcare on Wednesday, 20th December, 2023.
The Deputy Governor reiterated that Immunization and Primary Healthcare are critical for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) especially SDGs3 which aims to promote healthy lives and encourage well-being for all, noting that if we get primary healthcare right, it would be much easier to get secondary and tertiary healthcare right.
The Deputy Governor who is the Chairman of the State Task Force on Primary Health said the collective goal of the Task Force is to improve the health and well-being of the all residents in the State irrespective of their status through enhanced immunization and primary healthcare services.
She congratulated them on the success of the 2nd Round of the National Immunization Days Campaign launched in Opobo recently and implored them to continue to support the Governor Fubara led Government by putting in their best to keep the Rivers People healthy.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh said the Task Force tried to chart a strategic approach towards addressing the challenges of delivering quality primary health care services to citizens of the State by closing the gaps and improving the system.
