As the 11th National Triennial General Conference/ Delegates election approaches, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Rivers State led by her Chairperson, Susan Lekara Serekara-Nwikhana is expected to conveyed 37 Delegates from Rivers State to Abuja to participate in the event.
We are very much aware of the hardship in the country as such have been making effort to ensure the 37 members of NAWOJ Rivers State attend the programme slated to hold in Abuja.
We have written to some multinational organisations, corporate organisations, well meaning individuals and governmental agencies soliciting for their assistance to enable members of NAWOJ Rivers State have adequate provision to attend the national delegates conference in Abuja.
However, it is surprising to know that some persons are using the nomenclature of NAWOJ Rivers State for personal reasons.
NAWOJ Rivers State wish to dissociate herself from persons not authorized to speak for NAWOJ Rivers State.
In lieu of this, we wish to state that as far as NAWOJ Rivers State is concerned, the only authentic and recognised Chairperson to do and transact business with is the chairperson, Susan Lekara Serekara-Nwikhana with phone number 08067971973.
We are calling on corporate organizations, well meaning individuals and the Rivers State Government not to entertained any correspondence from individuals claiming to be the leadership of NAWOJ Rivers State.
We appeal that all assistance, support and all activities to NAWOJ should be channeled to the legally and authorized executive members of NAWOJ Rivers State, headed by me, Susan Lekara Serekara-Nwikhana, my Vice Chairperson, Daba Benebo and Secretary Ngozi Anosike.
While I recognised that individuals can embarked on their private solicit for support and assistance, however anything or any support intended for NAWOJ Rivers State should be channeled to me or through the Secretary of NAWOJ Rivers State Chapter.
We dissociate ourselves from any individual or individuals parading herself or themselves as the Chairperson or executive members of NAWOJ Rivers State.
