Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, has been described as the hero of the 2023 presidential election by Governor, Nyesom Wike for scuttling the chances of the North retaining power after President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Wike, who said this during a meeting with traders associations in the state on Saturday in Port Harcourt, said, if Obi had not contested, power would have gone back to the North, as the PDP would have won South-South and South-East where Obi won.

He said Obi may not have been pronounced winner but, the law will take its course.

He also said that history will be on his side for not just fighting but, fighting well.

“Obi is the hero. He may not have been pronounced the winner, but no problem, the law will take its course. If Obi did not run this election, power would have remained in the North. Whether he is declared winner now or not, history will be on his side, that he fought and fought well,” Wike said.
