President Bola Tinubu is reportedly preparing to reinstate the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Rivers State House of Assembly later this month. This development follows a successful truce brokered between Fubara and his predecessor, current Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
According to PUNCH, sources within the Presidency said that the President is considering Fubara’s return to office after a closed-door reconciliation meeting held Thursday night at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting brought together Fubara, Wike, the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, and several lawmakers.
The truce signals a significant step toward resolving political tensions in Rivers State, paving the way for stability and governance to resume.
