President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) Strategic, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation Committee.
The committee is made up of APC governors, members of the Federal Executive Council, and other key stakeholders within the ruling party. It is chaired by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, while former APC National Legal Adviser, Muiz Banire, serves as Member and Secretary.
Governor Fubara’s inclusion follows his recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC and is seen as part of broader efforts by the party leadership to strengthen internal cohesion, manage conflicts, and enhance mobilisation ahead of the next election cycle.
Political observers say the move signals the APC’s strategy to consolidate its ranks by integrating influential political actors, particularly from strategic states, as preparations intensify for upcoming electoral contests.
