President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu says it is a shame not to have electricity for the majority of homes in Nigeria.
The President said this while speaking at the 2023 conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in Abuja at the weekend.
Tinubu who said his administration is on course to make life better for Nigerians stated the poverty is not a shameful thing, but unacceptable.
He also said the government cannot continue to service external debt with 90percent of its revenue as it is a path to destruction.
“It’s a shame not to have electricity for the majority of homes in Nigeria. Poverty is not a shameful thing but it is not acceptable. We must banish it,” President Tinubu at 2023 NBA Conference,” he said.
“Can we continue to service external debt with over 90 per cent of our revenue? it is a path to destruction. We cannot continue that. We have to make hard decisions,” he added.
