PORT HARCOURT – The Port Harcourt City Local Government has condemned the unauthorized collection of daily ticket fees from commercial motorists operating along Ikwerre Road, Old Port Harcourt Township, and Mile 3.
In an official statement, the council chairman, Hon. Ichemati Ezebunwo declared the daily ticket illegal and clarified that it has not sanctioned any individuals or groups to collect such payments.
He directed authorities to arrest anyone found harassing motorists for these fees and hand them over to the police. The council reiterated its commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and warned that violators will face legal consequences.
