The Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir (Hon.) Allwell Ihunda, has officially designated Emma Wike and Partners as the sole consultant and authorized revenue collection agent for the council.
In a statement released today, the Mayor emphasized that all revenue payments must be made strictly via cheque or bank transfer into the official account of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Council. Cash payments are now strictly prohibited, and any payment made in cash will be considered invalid.
He said, payers are required to present proof of payment to the Head of the Finance Department at the council or the Office of the Mayor for verification and issuance of an official, certified receipt.
The Mayor also warned residents, companies, and business owners against patronizing touts or illegal revenue agents, noting that anyone who engages such persons does so at their own risk.
Members of the public seeking further clarification are advised to visit the Office of the Mayor at the Port Harcourt City Local Government Secretariat on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
