The family of late musician, Daniel ‘Sleek’ Ikeaguchi, who was killed by a trigger happy Police officer in Obio/Akpor local government area, Rivers State, few months ago, says they are yet to receive the N50 Million compensation from the Nigeria Police Command.
Sleek’s family lawyer, Noble Njoku who disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, on Thursday, said the Police is yet to reply to their letter.
He said all efforts to get the Police to obey a court order has proved abortive.
A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt had ordered the Police hierarchy to pay the said sum to Sleek’s family.
Njoku also stated that Mr Daniel Ikeaguchi has not remained the same since the death of his son.
The death of the 20-year old caused public outcry. He was laid to rest on Monday, December 21, 2020.
