The expatriate who plunged into the Eleme River in his Hilux while trying to escape from kidnappers has been identified as Gibson Reuben, Managing Director/CEO of Rivers State Cassava Project Limited by the Police
The Police in a statement on Tuesday said it recovered Gibson’s lifeless body and the Hilux under the supervision of the state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju and the chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. Brian Gokpa.
Spokesperson of the command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said the mobile police personnel who accompanied Mr Reuben managed to escape.
She also said the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered a full investigation with the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
