The Police in Rivers state has rescued a hotelier who was abducted at the Artillery axis of Port Harcourt on December 19th 2023.
The state commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu in a statement Today, said the hotelier was rescued at Agbonchia in Eleme local government area of the state.
According to him, the victim was shot three times in the leg before he was whisked away by his abductors.
He said the abductors refused to free the victim despite collecting a huge amount of money from his family, adding that the financial transaction was hidden from the Police.
He revealed that the victim is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Disu also said that one of the suspects was arrested during the raid, and that arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
