Officers of the Rivers State Police Command have reportedly arrested human rights lawyer and activist, Chetam Nwala, in Port Harcourt.
Sources said Nwala was picked up on Monday at the UTC Junction while returning from court, where a matter involving him was heard.
Details surrounding the arrest remain unclear as of the time of filing this report. It was also not immediately confirmed whether the arrest is connected to the earlier allegations of defamation of character and cyberbullying made against him.
Efforts to reach the Rivers State Police Command for official confirmation and clarification were unsuccessful at press time.
More details are expected as the situation develops.
