The Nigeria Police Force has disowned a viral document circulating on social media claiming that officers attached to certain VIPs had been ordered to return to base by the 50 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron, Abuja.
The statement, signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, clarified that the document is fake and should be disregarded by the public.
According to the Police, the document — purportedly signed by one CSP Suleiman Abdullahi as the squadron’s Admin Officer — is fabricated, as no such officer exists in the unit. The Force further explained that the Admin Officer role in PMF squadrons is not held by an officer of CSP rank.
The Police noted that the forged document appears to be a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and create unnecessary confusion.
While confirming that the implementation of the Presidential Directive on withdrawing officers from VIP duties has commenced, the Force emphasized that the process is being carried out in a structured and phased manner to prevent any security vacuum. It assured Nigerians of ongoing measures to maintain law and order during the transition.
The Police urged members of the public to rely on verified information from official channels and avoid sharing unconfirmed documents that could undermine public trust.
