The Rivers State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of Inspector Maxwell Zabu, a security aide to former Port Harcourt Local Government Chairman, Victor Ihunwo.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at Mr. Ihunwo’s residence in Eagle Island, Port Harcourt. Preliminary reports indicate that Inspector Zabu died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the development and stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for a thorough probe.
