RIVERS STATE – The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspected bombers in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, preventing a planned attack.
The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, disclosed this on Tuesday, March 25, during a press briefing in Port Harcourt. He stated that the suspects were caught with four dynamites, switches, detonating pads, and other explosive materials.
Adepoju revealed that the Rivers Police Command’s swift intervention thwarted an attempted attack, adding that in a separate operation, security operatives raided a kidnappers’ hideout, arresting eight suspects and rescuing six victims.
The raid, conducted on March 21 along Omoku Road in Ahoada East, led to the recovery of firearms, ammunition, motorcycles, and communication devices.
Authorities have assured residents of continued efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.
