ABUJA — The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed circulating rumors suggesting the return of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) under a reformed framework. In an official statement issued on February 10, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi emphasized that SARS, which was officially disbanded on October 11, 2020, remains dissolved.
The police urged the public to disregard misinformation about any alleged reformation or new rules of engagement for SARS. Citizens are advised to verify the authenticity of information before accepting it as true.
He said Nigerians are encouraged to follow the official social media handles of the police, including @PoliceNG on X, @ngpolice on Facebook, and @nigeriapoliceforce on Instagram for accurate update.
The police stressed the importance of public safety and vigilance, urging individuals to stay informed through credible sources.
