The Rivers State Police Command says some youths were yesterday arrested for attempting to invade the residence of the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly – Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule.
Spokesperson of the command, Grace Koko made this known in a statement Today.
She said the youths were arrested while trying to pull down the gate of the residence of the Speaker at Old GRA Port Harcourt.
We gathered that about 120 youths including the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria in Rivers state – Chijioke Ihunwo were among those arrested.
One person was reportedly hit by stray bullet and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
