The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed a tragic boat accident along the Bonny waterway.
In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, Grace Koko, revealed that the boat capsized after being struck by a heavy storm. Nineteen passengers were rescued, while three others lost their lives. The bodies of the deceased have been recovered.
Koko described the incident as a tragic occurrence. Authorities are continuing efforts to ensure safety on the waterways.
