The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that the case involving an alleged assault on a group of women by a socialite at a popular nightclub in Port Harcourt has been formally charged to court.
The incident, which reportedly occurred during a birthday celebration, gained public attention after a video showing the aftermath of the alleged attack surfaced online last week. The victims were seen with visible bodily injuries.
Spokesperson for the command, Grace Iringe-Koko, told PUNCH Metro on Sunday that the suspect, identified as Ihechi Maduba, was invited for questioning and initially detained. She added that the police had concluded investigations and the matter is now before the court.
