The Rivers State Police Command has arrested the proprietor and proprietress of Christ Ambassadors Mission International School located in Eagle Island, Port Harcourt, following allegations of child abuse involving a 14-year-old girl.
According to preliminary reports, the principal of the school allegedly ordered a teacher to press a hot iron on the teenage student as punishment. The incident reportedly occurred after the girl’s aunt, who is also her caregiver, accused her of stealing ₦30,000 and reported the matter to the school authorities.
The victim sustained burns from the alleged punishment and is currently receiving medical attention. Police say investigations are ongoing and have vowed to ensure justice is served.
