The Rivers State Police Command, has arrested five suspected cultists who are students of the Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic.

The state commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu in a statement on Thursday, said the students were arrested alongside a fake police officer – Fred Monday during a cult initiation in Luegbo community, Khana LGA.

According to him, the suspects have been charged and are currently in a correctional centre.

“Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State Police Command responded to an intelligence report of a criminal operation in Luegbo Community in Khana Local Government Area.

“On arriving at the scene, the Police met with an ongoing gruesome Cult initiation process. Five suspects, later found to be students of the Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic, were arrested,” he said.

Meanwhile, the institution was yet to react to the incident as at press time.
