The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the driver of the Lexus SUV involved in the road crash that affected world boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, and resulted in the deaths of two passengers.
The command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists on Thursday, noting that the driver is currently in police custody.
According to the statement, investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.
The crash occurred on Monday at about 11 a.m. around the Danco axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, when the Lexus SUV conveying Joshua and two of his close associates collided with a stationary truck.
Meanwhile, the Lagos and Ogun state governments have confirmed that Anthony Joshua has been discharged from the hospital following medical treatment.
