The Plateau State Government has debunked widespread claims that Governor Caleb Mutfwang has defected to the Young Progressives Party (YPP).
In a statement issued on Friday, the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere, dismissed the reports as false and mischievous, describing them as a deliberate attempt by “desperate mischief makers” to mislead the public and sow confusion.
The government maintained that Governor Mutfwang remains fully committed to his responsibilities and has not joined any political party. Bere reiterated that the governor “has not defected to the Young Progressives Party.”
