Rivers State government, says plans are underway to uplift medical facilities, especially Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) and General Hospitals across the state.
The state commissioner for health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, made this known in a statement on Wednesday.
According to her, uplifting health facilities across the state is one of the focus of the current administration.
“One of the focus of the current administration of the governor, Siminalayi Fubara is that a lot of attention be placed on primary health care and by extension, secondary health care. So the primary health care centres in our wards and in our communities and then the general hospitals,” she said.
“One of the priorities of this government is to ensure that every community in every ward has a workable primary health care center. What that means is that we are looking to upgrading those that are existing. These are the gaps that have been identified and equipping them to make sure that they can provide basic quality health care services,” she added.
