Chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Ichemati Ezebunwo has promised to take over construction of the Rivers State University Post Graduate Cafeteria.
The Mayor, made this known when executives of the Post Graduate Students Association, RSU visited him at the council secretariat on Wednesday.
He said, “Yesterday, I received the audience of Executives of the Post Graduate Students Association (PGSA) from the Rivers State University, Nkpolu Oroworukwo led by their President, Mr Sokari Giftson Minapakate, at the PHALGA Council Chambers.
As an alumnus of the prestigious Rivers State University, I was awed by the decision of the Post graduate students to commit their personal resources into the remodeling of the PG canteen, to provide a more hygienic environment for healthier preparation and consumption of food.
As a Council, we have made a commitment to ensure the completion of this project for the School and further widen the scope of work by including furnishing that wasn’t captured in the earlier BOQ.
We have also assured that a power generating set will be procured to ensure constant power supply to the canteen.
It is our intent that this project will be completed in record time, for the benefit of the University community.
