The Port Harcourt Zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has threatened to embark on an indefinite strike over the Federal Government’s non-implementation of their 2009 agreement.
Zonal Coordinator of the association, Stanley Ogoun, made this known in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the government has failed to implement all agreements reached with the union, as he called for the signing of the 2009 renegotiated agreement.
Oguon, explained that since 2009 their salary structure have remained the same despite inflation and other challenges being experienced in the country.
He also said the union is yet to receive the N50bn Earned Academic Allowance and the revitalization fund.
