The Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, RIVCSO, has called on the state government to adequately compensate those whose buildings are affected by the construction of the Port Harcourt Ring Road.

Chairman of RIVCSO, Enefaa Georgewill who made this known in a statement said there should be no excuses on compensating affected persons.

According to him, individuals affected by the construction are Rivers people and Nigerians who have lived the better parts of their lives in the state and contributed to her development.

He called on government at all level to put a human face to development adding that Nigerians are already suffering as a result of subsidy removal.

He advised the state government to deliberately avoid actions capable of throwing residents into more hardship as the resultant effect which is criminality and insecurity will potray the state in bad light.
