A Port Harcourt resident, Bede Nnamdi Nwulu has raised an alarm over the activities of “One Chance” robbers in the city.

Nwulu in a statement said the rate at which one chance terrorize their victims is worrisome.

His statement reads,

The rate at which one chance criminals terrorize their victims in Port Harcourt is becoming worrisome.

How They Operate: You will see a taxi carrying four passengers. Three at the back seat(2 men and a nursing mother), and one passenger at the front seat(a man), with the driver, then leaving one chance seat for their victim at the front seat(because taxi here in Ph normally carries 3 passengers at the back seat and two passengers at the front, and the driver).

They normally start their operations once it’s about 7 p.m in the evening, and also around 5:30 to 6:00 a.m in the morning.

You will see a taxi carrying four passengers including a woman going to your direction, they will stop and pick you at the front seat.. once they drive some seconds away, probably to the lonely part of the road, the passenger sitting with you at the front will start shouting “my hand, my hand”, he will continue by telling you that the door has hit his hand that you should open the door so he can remove his hand from the door grip, out of pity, you would want to open the door, while the driver would slow down, as soon as you open the door, one person at the back seat will snatch your phone or handbag from you, before you could know what is going on, the driver would bring out a pen knife or gun and point at you, at that point, you’ll be confused, and all you would think of is your safety…the passenger sitting close to you will then push the victim out of the moving vehicle and they will zoom off leaving you at the mercy of God on the road.

A lot of people have lose their valuable items from these people.Always stay at alert, and mind the type of vehicle you enter especially within these period of time..they mostly operate along Aba road, Waterlines, Rumuola, Artillery and other express road axis in Port Harcourt.

Tell someone to tell someone. Don’t be a victim. These people are very ruthless. Some even stab or wound their stubborn victims.
