The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, says part of the Port Harcourt refinery will start delivering finished products by September next year.
Group General Manager, Kennie Obateru in a statement said rehabilitation of the refinery expected to gulp $1.5 billion has commenced in full.
He said the work would be over in 44 months time as contractors have been mobilised to site.
“Why we said between 18 and 44 months time is the fact that it will not be at the end of 44 months before the refinery starts working, but that in 18 months some sections of the refinery will start producing,” he said.
