Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Port Harcourt Branch, Prince Nyekwere has complained of the return of what he described as affidavit touts, in an around the court premises.
Speaking during the 2021/2022 legal year in Port Harcourt, Nyekwere described the development as worrisome.
He said the affidavit touts dupe unsuspecting members of the public by issuing forged documents to them.
He recalled that in July 3 persons were arrested and charged to court for such offence and that two of them have been convicted, while the trial of the third person is on going.
He called on the state judiciary to with immediate effect put adequate measures in place to ensure such practices have no place within and around the High Court premises.
