Suspected hoodlums on Sunday morning attacked and robbed Adhoc staff at the Port Harcourt office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, carting away their valuables.
Some of the Adhoc staff who were robbed said they were sleeping in the premises of the commission when the hoodlums attacked them at about 5:00am.
They said many persons sustained injuries while running to evade the attackers who were armed with machetes.
They also said no police officer was on ground at the time, and that the gate of the commission was left open.
The adhoc staff with majority of them youth corp members called for adequate security at the office to prevent further attacks.
They also called on INEC to take care of them by providing food and shelter as they are been treated like refugees.
