A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State yesterday found six foreigners and a Nigerian guilty of oil theft. They were then sentenced to seven years imprisonment for oil theft with an option of a two million naira fine.
The presiding judge, J.K Omotosho who gave the ruling yesterday found the defendants guilty of the four-count charge slammed on them by the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of EFCC.
The convicts: Mohammed Ejaz, Nasser Khan; Oleksandr Nazarenko, Oleksandr Kashernvi; Romeo Annang, Fredrik Fatin Omenu and David Otuohi, had pleaded not guilty in the case ,which has lasted well over three years.
