Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Thursday paid a condolence visit to Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi over the killing of her son, Ifesinachi Onyekere, Managing Director of Fish Magnet Outlet.
Obi described Ifesinachi as a promising young Nigerian SME entrepreneur based in Awka, whose life was cut short after he was kidnapped and later murdered by yet-to-be-identified assailants, who abandoned his remains in Amawbia.
Condemning the incident as “a shocking and senseless act of violence,” Obi said it underscored the worsening insecurity in the country. He urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice, warning that Nigeria must not become “a haven for lawlessness.”
He called on government, communities, and citizens to work together in building a safer and more secure nation, praying for the repose of the deceased and strength for his grieving family.
