The Labour Party Presidential Candidate at the just concluded 2023 Presidential elections, Mr Peter Obi, has vowed to reclaim his mandate through the court as advised by the INEC Chairman. He made this known in his first-ever public speech after the election on Thursday in Abuja.
Peter Obi, who failed to congratulate the President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu says he won the election fairly and would soon reclaim his mandate. He reiterated his respect for the law and promised to utilize the option.
‘’I will challenge this rascality for the future of the nation. We won the election and we will prove it to Nigerians” he said.
Obi who believes the process did not meet the minimum requirements and standards, urged politicians who wish to be addressed as His Excellency to adopt excellent ways of winning elections.
“If you must be referred to as “His Excellency ” then the process through which you arrived in office must be excellent ”
The Labour Party presidential candidate also rule out the option of consulting international communities saying it is a Nigerian thing and we must think to resolve it ourselves.
‘’ I will Not Engage or Consult the International Body, This is a Nigerian problem and we will resolve it here. It’s time we start doing things as ourselves ‘’
He sues for peace and urges his supporters to participate in the forthcoming Gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections. “Come out and vote in the (March 11) election, please come out and be part of the elections. I assure you that I will be a part of it, and I am totally committed to a better future for this country.”
Recall that on Wednesday, INEC declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC winner of the February 25th Presidential Election having polled majority of the votes cast ahead of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
