Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has officially adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a platform for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking after a meeting held on Tuesday, Obi said the decision resulted from deep reflection on Nigeria’s current challenges and the urgent need for a united front to deliver capable and compassionate leadership.
“This move wasn’t made lightly. It is driven by our collective resolve to put the nation’s future first and ensure Nigerians get the leadership they truly deserve,” Obi said.
He emphasized the importance of unity, stating that no single individual or group can transform Nigeria alone. “To dismantle the systems that have kept our people in poverty and insecurity, we must build bridges—even when they are uneasy.”
Reaffirming his belief in national transformation, Obi declared, “A new Nigeria is possible.”
