Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, says very soon people would start paying tax before they are allowed to enter the City of Port Harcourt. This he said, is in a bid to decongest the city.
Wike who disclosed this during a church service in Diobu, Port Harcourt on Sunday, said the tax would make people stay in their local government areas.
The governor, stated that it would be known as “decongestion tax”. He attributed his re-election and the success of his administration to God.
Wike also announced the construction of a tenth flyover at the tank axis of Rumukurushi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
He explained that the flyover is to further reduce the issue of traffic gridlock experienced in some parts of the State.
