Popular TikTok personality Peller has accused the Lagos State Government of imposing an excessive tax bill of N36 million on him.
Speaking during a recent livestream with singer Peruzzi, Peller claimed the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) demanded the amount as income tax, despite his relatively recent rise to fame.
“Taskforce said I should pay N36 million for tax. I don’t have anything. I just came into the limelight last year,” he said.
Peruzzi, in response, urged him to settle the bill to avoid legal consequences. “Why haven’t you paid your taxes? Do you know you’re supposed to pay tax as a Nigerian? Do you know how much I pay as tax? I won’t mention it here but it’s more than the tax bill they gave you,” the singer stated.
Peller maintained that the demand was unfair, noting that the government had never supported him financially during his TikTok livestream sessions
