PORT HARCOURT — Former Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Chidi Lloyd, has criticized suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, accusing him of lacking sincerity in his ongoing peace initiatives.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Lloyd stated that “there can be no peace without justice,” and called on Fubara to apologize to several political stakeholders, including members of the State House of Assembly whose salaries were allegedly withheld for two years. He also named former chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Sergeant Awuse, and former local government chairmen as individuals deserving of an apology.
Lloyd, who claimed to have supported Fubara’s rise to power, expressed personal grievances and urged the suspended governor to implement all recommendations made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory as a pathway to restoring lasting peace in Rivers State.
