Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the 2023 gubernatorial election in Rivers State, Sen. Magnus Abe says elected officials who have sworn to an oath to serve the people should do so not minding how they got to power.
Abe made this known during a radio interview in Port Harcourt this morning in reaction to the political crisis in Rivers state.
According to him, resigning as an elected official because of a disagreement with whosoever is wrong, adding that anyone who does so is not fit to occupy a political office.
He said for the country to develop, elected officials must act according to the dictates of the law and not allow anyone set standards for them.
On the 8-point resolution reached, Abe said Fubara was smart to sign the agreement for the sake of peace, noting that it is not easy to disagree with the president.
He reiterated that when the president asked him to withdraw his petition, he did without questioning him.
He added that what the president did was to maintain status quo for the sake of peace in the state and that those against the resolution have the right to do so.
Interesting.
But I find it strange that you would not give credit to the particular radio station that you got this information from.
I’m aware that it is Super 93.3fm Port Harcourt that broadcast this program this morning from which you got this report, and on this program credit has been given to your blog on several occasions.
Anyway, I thought I should point that out.
