The Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum has called on Governor Siminialayi Fubara not to mortgage the overall interest of the state following his Christmas day broadcast that the eight-point resolution is not a death sentence.
The Governor had also said that he was committed to implementing the resolution.
However, a former governor of the state and leader of the Forum, Mr. Ada George in a statement disagreed with the Governor, describing the resolution as a death sentence.
He called on the governor not to implement the resolution, adding that Rivers people will resist any attempt to do so.
