The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the appointment of Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, the Vice Chairman (North Central), as the Acting National Chairman of the party.
In a letter dated November 3, 2025, and signed by the National Secretary, Senator Samuel N. Anyanwu, the party said the decision was reached during a National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on November 1, 2025.
The PDP explained that Mohammed’s appointment is in line with the provisions of its constitution and follows the suspension of the National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum.
The party urged INEC to take necessary steps to recognize Mohammed in his new role, assuring that the change in leadership is aimed at strengthening the operations and administration of the party.
