The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said it is planning to organize a non-partisan national conference on security.
Chairman of the nation’s leading opposition party, Uche Secondus made this known at a meeting with Jerry Howard, the political officer at the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria.
Secondus accused the current administration of failing to protect Nigerians from terrorism, banditry and other crimes bedeviling the nation.
He appealed to the United States and other countries, to come to its aid by prevailing on President Muhammadu Buhari to take necessary measures to protect lives and properties of Nigerians.
“Everyday, our nation is confronted with reports of gruesome killings, kidnapping and unrestrained destruction across all parts of our country. As a party and patriotic citizens, we can no longer continue to watch”, he said.
