The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended four key national officers, following decisions reached at its 608th meeting held on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Those suspended include the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; the National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature; the National Legal Adviser, Mr. Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN; and the Deputy National Legal Adviser, Barr. Okechukwu Osuoha.
According to the NWC resolution, the affected officials have been suspended for one month and referred to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee for further action. During the suspension period, they are barred from performing any official duties associated with their positions.
The party further invoked Section 36(2) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) to appoint the Deputy National Secretary, Hon. Arc. Setonji Koshoedo, to serve as Acting National Secretary pending the conclusion of investigations.
Additionally, the NWC directed the National Director of Legal Services to immediately take charge of the activities of the Legal Department, pending the outcome of the disciplinary process involving the National Legal Adviser and his deputy.
The party leadership emphasized that the decisions were taken in the overall interest of maintaining discipline and order within its ranks.
