Amid crises rocking the People’s Democratic Party over the resignation of its National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, the party has gone ahead to release timetable for its presidential election campaign.
Director General of the Campaign Council, Aminu Tambuwal said the official flag-off of the campaign will hold in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital on October, 10 2022.
Some members of the party are insisting that its National Chairman, Ayu must resign his position as agreed.
The Rivers State Governor had on different occasions said there was an agreement that Ayu would go if Atiku emerged Presidential candidate of the party, as both seats cannot be occupied by Northerners.
However, Ayu few weeks ago said he was not stepping down from his position, noting that it is against the party’s constitution.
Moves by the party to resolve the internal wranglings have proved abortive.
Meanwhile, the campaign across the country will hold as follows,
